Water – Water is probably the one form of nutrition many of us neglect the most! Carrying nutrients to the skin, it gives it that firm, full appearance. Lots of fruits and vegetables contain water, but it’s easier to just drink a few glasses more each day.
Almonds – Great sources of vitamin E, almonds nourishes skin, protecting it from UV damage. Sprinkle them on muffins, yogurt or use it as a garnish for baked dishes. Whilst they are yummy, be careful how much you eat, as they are also quite calorie dense.
Chocolate – Yes, we know! Isn’t it great? Not just great for the heart, chocolate contains high amounts of the antioxidant, flavonols. Go for darker chocolates with at least 70% cacao content. A few squares a day should be enough to help your along.
Tomatoes – Ah the humble tomato! Tomatoes are great antioxidant supplements that help improve the skin’s natural resistance to UV damage. Rich in vitamin C, they help keep skin taught and promotes collagen production.
Watercress – Watercress is chock full of natural antioxidants, minerals and manganese, carotene and potassium. Natures powerful cleansing agent, it nourishes the skin while flushing out toxins. They make a lovely addition to a salad too!
